Xavier University School of Medicine is proud and excited that our Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Clinical Science, Dr. Richard Pestell was recently named to The Order of Australia, which was established by Queen Elizabeth II in 1975.  The Order of Australia’s goal is to recognize Australian citizens for outstanding service or achievement.  Dr. Pestell will be receiving the level of Officer (AO) which recognizes distinguished service of the highest degree for Australian citizens for their extraordinary efforts to impacting humanity for the better.  Dr. Pestell’s commitment to the field of medicine and helping others through medical research is one of the many reasons that he was awarded this high honor. Dr. Pestell stated “I am deeply humbled by this honor…. Thank you to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and The Governor General of Australia for this recognition”.

At Xavier University School of Medicine we have a strong belief in a commitment to service and to helping others. Dr. Pestell is a great reflection of this commitment. This is an outstanding achievement for Dr. Pestell and we are proud to have him as a part of our University here at Xavier!
