Xavier University School of Medicine and Announce 6-Year Pre-Med To Doctor of Medicine / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program; New Cohorts Begin September 2023
Xavier University School of Medicine and KLE have came together to offer students a program where they can start their journey in India at KLE in Belgaum, continue to the basic sciences at Xavier University School of Medicine in Aruba, and then complete their clinical rotations in the US at Xavier’s affiliated and accredited teaching hospitals and clinics.
“We are very excited to partner with KLE in Belgaum,” said Ravi Bhooplapur, President of Xavier University School of Medicine. “This program is ideal for students in India aiming to practice in the USA and Canada. We look forward to working with many students through this program beginning later this year.”
About The Program
Students will complete their first 2 years of pre-med at KLE’s campus in Belgaum before advancing to Xavier’s campus in Aruba.
Students in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree will be able to graduate and are eligible to apply for residency in the United States and Canada.
Students in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree will be permitted to take the NAVLE exam and immediately accept jobs without the need for residency.
Admissions
The first class for the KLE and Xavier Pre-Med to MD program will begin in September 2023. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2023.
Qualifications for admission:
- Students must have completed the 12th standard
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (equivalent)
- Proficiency in English
- NEET score will be required before enrollment.
