Accreditations
Xavier University School of Medicine (XUSOM) in Aruba is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM). Xavier’s accreditation from ACCM runs through December 31, 2028. ACCM granted Xavier its initial accreditation in 2015 and granted an extension of this accreditation through 2028. This is required for students to take USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 and obtain residency. This accreditation also makes Xavier compliant with the forthcoming new ECFMG rule regarding accreditation, which will go into effect in 2023.

Our students and alumni speak for themselves
“One of the reasons I chose Xavier was because of the many options I had for clinical rotations in the U.S. My medical degree from Xavier has opened so many doors and prepared me for a successful career practicing in the field I love.”
— Dr. Adrienne Hicks ‘07
“I chose Xavier for a few reasons – first, because of the family atmosphere, and tight-knit community. Second, the accreditation and clinical rotations in New York were very important to me. Finally, the weather in Aruba is always fantastic and its easy to immerse yourself in the culture.”
— Andrew Spalanzini, New York, USA
“The school gave me the opportunity to be exposed to different areas of medicine. Xavier prepared me to go into residency as a strong first-year student and I am confident that I’ll be able to give my students the best treatment possible. Xavier cares about its students, not just academically but personally as well.”
— Dr. Ella-Marie Kabia ’20, New Jersey, USA
