President Ravi Bhooplapur is pleased to announce that the Xavier Foundation has received a generous $1 million donation from the Sharifi Family Foundation marking the second-largest gift in our history.
Drs. Bobak and Sasha Sharifi, proud alumni of Xavier University School of Medicine, have gone on to become accomplished physicians in nephrology and cardiology, respectively. During their recent visit to Aruba for the Global Alumni Meet, they expressed deep gratitude for the quality education and unwavering support they received from Xavier’s dedicated faculty throughout their entire medical journey. Inspired by the progress of our new academic campus under construction, they pledged their support with a transformational $1 million gift.
In recognition of this tremendous generosity, the library at the new academic campus will be named The Sharifi Health Sciences Library.
This gift is a strong start to our newly launched Capital Campaign, with a goal to raise $20 million over the next five years to support academic facilities, scholarships, and strategic growth. We are proud to share that nearly $5 million has already been raised to date.
This moment signifies a new era of Xavier alumni partnership—demonstrating a shared commitment to shaping the university’s future and securing a lasting legacy for generations to come.
