About Me
President Bhooplapur has worked in the insurance industry for over 28 years and is Founder & CEO of Vision Financial Services, New York. He has been awarded many industry awards and entered into the “Hall of Fame” of insurance for his outstanding commitment and service to the industry. Ravi is a board member of numerous charities, hospitals, and businesses. He is the founder of the Gift of Life, India and has been instrumental in saving over 6,000 children’s lives to date by providing heart surgery to children under the age of 15.
Ravi has worked with many hospitals and physicians nationwide (through his work with Gift of Life, India. In 2008, he became the President of Xavier University School of Medicine, Aruba. He is a very active member of Rotary International and was installed as District Governor of Rotary International on July 2, 2009. The Rotary Foundation has awarded Mr. Bhooplapur:
- Meritorious Service Award
- Distinguished Service Award
- Rotary Foundation’s highest award, “Service above Self.” for Ravi’s commitment to humanitarian work worldwide
He is a charter member of the Arch Klump Society and the Rotary Legacy Club. He is a Hall of Fame Member at the Rotary Foundation, and his portrait was installed at world headquarters in Evanston, Chicago in 2005. Mr. Bhooplapur was recognized by the United States Congress and presented an award by Congressman Gary Ackerman for his outstanding contributions to local and international humanitarian causes.
In 2012 he was awarded the prestigious “Ellis Island Medal of Honor,“ which celebrates medalists’ professional contributions to the United States of America and their immigrant heritage.
Mr. Bhooplapur currently serves as a Trustee of SUNY Old Westbury University in Long Island, New York since 2013, which oversees the school's campus in Long Island and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Fundraising Committee for the Old Westbury Foundation (2020-2022). In 2021, he was also named the the Chairperson of the Fundraising Committee for the Jefferson University India Center for Research in Philadelphia.
Mr. Bhooplapur has been instrumental as President of Xavier University School of Medicine in obtaining three important accreditations for medical school:
- Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM)
- Approval by the New York State Education Department
- Approval by the Jordan Ministry of Health
