Xavier University School of Medicine (XUSOM) is an accredited medical school located on the beautiful island of Aruba. The school was founded to educate students in the art of medicine via a U.S.-based medical school curriculum. The entire focus of our curriculum is to ensure students receive the knowledge they need to successfully enter U.S. residency programs as competent physicians.

Business Development - Operations

A foreign medical/Nursing school with US recruitment office based in Woodbury New York is looking for person to oversee the business development . The person will be primarily responsible for overseeing various activities of the US office including: managing staff, student recruitment activities, establishing and reviewing clinical sites in the United States. Coordinating with various accreditation work . Developing twining programs with various Universities.

The minimum qualification required is in MBA/MPH. Individuals with good leadership experience and command in writing skills will be preferred. Previous medical school or University administrative experience will be highly preferred. Competitive salary and benefit package will be provided. Travel required.

Admissions and Recruitment Representative

A foreign medical school with recruitment office based in Woodbury, New York is seeking an experienced Admissions/ Recruitment Representative/ professional and polished demeanor. This person will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day new student recruitment activities of the university including: new student seminars, prospective student inquiries, scheduling interviews and e-mail correspondence. Ideal candidate displays initiative and is results oriented. Most of your time will be spent communicating with prospective students. National and International travel is required.

Duties include:

  • Create and Manage marketing and advertising materials
  • Relationship management
  • Schedule and book travel
  • Seminar presentation (national and international)
  • Contacting all prospective students
  • Interview scheduling
  • Follow up on new applications
  • Document collection
  • Developing marketing plan for Medical / Nursing students.
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned

Minimum qualification: Bachelor's degree, 2 years sales experience, valid passport. Good reading, writing and computer skills, as well as a strong work ethic, are important.

Assistant Registrar - ARUBA

Reports directly to the Dean , Responsible for enrollment verification, maintaining all grades and files, ECFMG data submissions and verification, Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE), Leave of Absences, and transcripts , preparation of all accreditation documents . Position based in Aruba . Travel required occasionally to NY office.

Associate/Assistant Dean of Clinical Sciences

Reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer and President, and located in the U.S. office, s/he is responsible for the curriculum development and education of students at U.S. and Canadian teaching hospitals. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing clinical coordination
  • Supervising the daily operation of the clinical program
  • Daily management of students' rotations
  • Auditing students' clinical documents and logs
  • Evaluating clinical sites to ensure the integrity and excellence of the academic experience
  • Developing new ACGME-approved hospital affiliations and clinical clerkship sites throughout U.S. and Canada
  • Ensuring excellent working relationships with students, preceptors and hospitals
  • Selecting and overseeing clinical chairs
  • Supervising clinical chairs and clinical faculty and leading faculty development
  • Providing academic and career counseling to students and resolving problems or complaints.

Also assists in teaching MD5, leads the assessment and improvement of student learning, and supports accreditation activities. Travel requirements include visits to clerkship sites and the campus in Aruba. XUSOM's U.S. office is in Woodbury, NY.

M.D./Ph.D. preferred and must have prior medical school teaching/administration experience.

Faculty (Pre-Med/Basic Sciences)
  • Pre-Med Mathematics & Physics

M.D./Ph.D. preferred and must have prior medical school teaching experience. All faculty positions are located in Aruba.

Library Student Worker (Aruba)
    As a library student worker your job is to monitor activity in the library when the librarian is not there. Specific responsibilities are outlined below. Your supervisor is the Medical Librarian and all library issues should be directed to her. The pay rate is $5.00 per hour, which will be applied towards tuition. Student workers must be at the MD1 level or above.

    Job Responsibilities:

  • Student workers will enforce all library rules and policies. This includes but is not limited to: ensuring students sign in and out, keeping library noise level to a minimum, and making sure all bags are placed on the designated shelves. Student workers are also expected to perform any tasks assigned to them by the Medical Librarian. Student workers will be required to attend periodic library meetings. Student workers are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times in relation to the library.
  • Failure to meet expectations and/or poor job performance will result in being reprimanded, up to and including termination. Student employees may be terminated at any time. Grievances must follow the chain of command, starting with the Medical Librarian before being taken further.
  • Hiring:

  • Students will be hired on a semester-to-semester basis. They must reapply for each new semester. Being a current library employee or past employee does not guarantee future employment.
